| Hey all! On my 520FM I was very happy using just floppy disks and posting them off to our wonderful archiviST to transfer them to a modern digital format for use in emulators or to put onto cyberspace, etc. I'm a pain in the ass; i get that Now that I've got a replacement machine on the way I realise it's time to modernanisise things a bit, but i'm a bit confused. The machine on the way is an STe (520STe, 4mB, 2.06 TOS) and I've read that there can be compatibility issues writing to modern device solutions, anybody got any suggestions? I love the idea of having the option of ethernet connection for connecting to BBS and IRC and such, but it's not essential. CosmosEX3 looks really cool, but i'm not sure if i really need all that stuff. UltraSatan? heeeeeeelllllllllllppppppppp! | |

| there are lots of options and methods open to you. just depends what you want and how you prefer to do things. Personally, I use Ultrasatan with PP's hard disk driver. The first slot is my Atari "hard disk" partitioned up. The second slot is another partition but one i use as a spare, so I copy stuff to/from the Mac using that. My iMac has an SD card slot on the side you see. I'd love the CosmosEx which looks like a Gotek on steroids to my tiny brain. That is some awesome product. btw, I also use ParCP-USB and NetUSBee for copying. These are on my site if interested. Just depends on how you wanna do it? Lots of ways | |
